Our aims and objectives are to further the research and education amongst the general public in all fields relating to the study of trees and the dissemination of the useful results of any research.
In furtherance of these objectives, provisions may be made to:
- promote and further the work of Bedgebury Pinetum.
- provide funding for visits by school children to Bedgebury Pinetum, the purchase or acceptance of all or any material in connection with the study of trees and the financing of the publication of connected material
- provide funds for the purpose of enabling approved persons to travel in order to study and collect material for inclusion in the collections at Bedgebury Pinetum and other arboreta and gardens
- sponsor such events and exhibitions as are intended to advance the knowledge of all fields relating to the study of trees among the general public
Communication with our members:
With the cost of postage continuing to rise, it is important that we continue to seek new and more
cost effective means of communication with our membership.
Future editions of the Journal will therefore be issued by e-mail to our members. It will also be
available to download from the volunteering section on this website.
If you would still prefer to receive a paper version, please just pop into the Friends office at the Visitor
Centre and collect a copy of the current edition.
If you do not receive an e-mail copy of the Journal from us, it is because we do not hold your current
e-mail address. If this is the case, please contact us on 01580 879842 to ensure that we are able to
contact you about your membership and events and activities here in Bedgebury in the future.
Thank you for continuing to support the important environmental, educational and conservation work
undertaken in the National Pinetum. As a valued member of the Friends you can also support this
work by attending events, volunteering in the Pinetum or by becoming a Trustee.
