Growing up firstly in the Sussex countryside and then in Kent, the garden of England, Jane has always had a passion for art and nature. These twin interests came together when she undertook the Diploma Course in Botanical Painting at the Chelsea Physic Garden in 2009 under the direction of Helen Allen. It was through Helen that she was later approached to join the Bedgebury Florilegium. She has also undertaken further training in botanical painting at many of the leading botanical gardens in the UK as well as studying in London with Ann Marie Evans.
Prior to this, Jane had a successful career in natural therapies. As a senior lecturer in education she was responsible for developing some of the first Diplomas in Complementary Medicine offered by Further and Higher Education Colleges.
She now devotes her time to combining her love of nature and art with a disciplined approach to replicating nature. She is particularly interested in using art as a meditative practice for wellbeing.
