Get off the beaten track and discover areas that are hidden from the main visitor route!
Click here to download a printer-friendly version of the trail. As this walk is new, we'd love to hear what you think! Please download a feedback form here and hand this in to the Visitor Centre afterwards.
Please note that for a period in mid-June each year, the section on the map between point 4 and point 7 is inaccessible because of the Forest Live concert arena. It is possible to walk directly from point 4 to point 7 so that the remaining walk can be enjoyed. From time to time, forest maintenance works may also result in diversions. For your safety, please observe any diversion signs you see on your walk. Please contact the Information Office at the Visitor Centre if you require more assistance.
Forestry England offer a series of orienteering maps. These are available from the Information Office for £2 each.
The four levels are:
White - Young Children
Yellow - Beginners
Orange - Intermediate
Light Green - Advanced (experienced only)
